SIR – B Davison ‘The real threat is a Labour government’ (Worcester News, March 27) just doesn’t get it, does he?
I am not an apologist for Labour.Indeed, on the whole, I view the modern party, especially locally, with significant distaste.
However,I do have a powerful regard for fact, evidence-base and truth.
He’s upset because I dared to point out one or two – shall we say? – misunderstandings of ‘fact’ in his earlier submission.
Actually, it is quite serious: contrary to what Mr Davison keeps claiming, the “structural deficit” which was handed to the coalition by the last government was no greater than that handed, in the other direction, by the Tories in 1997.
Unfortunately for him, the facts just do not support his completely unfounded statements, which seem to describe a parallel, propogandist, universe.
I will, however, concede one thing: his blustering skills and capacity are worldclass.
