SIR – At last David Cameron has come out with fighting talk about immigrants who flock to this country to milk the system and take taxpayers’ cash.

But let’s see him put his words into action first.

Like Labour and the LibDems, the Tories are quaking in their boots as a result of the rise of parties such as UKIP, whose popularity has surged due to the public’s fears and anger with the way issues such as immigration have been dealt.

So are the PM’s words to try to get people to vote Conservative or does he mean what he says?

We cannot feed, house and care for everyone who comes here for an easy ride.

Like the people born and bred here, you simply must put in before you can take out.

Immigrants should not be allowed to jump lists on things such as housing; they should not be allowed to step off a boat or plane and start drawing welfare and getting their kids in already overcrowded schools, and they should not get free health care.

If they come here then they must pay their way, or let the country of their birth pick up the tab – not us.
