SIR – Further to the discussion on A-frames, I can well understand why shops that are in side streets or are not easily seen need them, but why do large High Street shops use them?
A case in point, I pass the new Costa Coffee at the side of Asda every morning on my way to work.
They have four illuminated signs, four large parasols with logos and 11 named boards marking out the outdoor seating area.
Why then do they need an A-frame two metres from the front door? Especially as the poster it depicts is also shown in the window behind it. It is these A frames that need to be got rid of.
