SIR – I was surprised and pleased to see the photograph of the Heenan and Froude football ladies team sent in by R Bradnock (Worcester News, March 7).
My mother was in the picture and it is said that she scored a single goal in one of the cup finals and the team carried her shoulder high at the final whistle.
I am writing to introduce Worcester News readers to another similar photograph, above, on the same subject but of a group of players during the Second World War.
My mother Elsie Wall was the coach/trainer and is standing in the back row on the extreme left, next but one to her is my sister and goalkeeper Barbara and directly below her in the front row is my Auntie Gladys.
