SIR – So David Barlow ‘Lies and distortion can get around easily’ (Worcester News, March 18) wants to reply to my letter ‘Labour left us is dire straits, Mr Udall’ (Worcester News, March 6) but only dealt with a small part.

However, he seems to have no argument with the fact that the last Labour government plundered the pension pots of ordinary people, sold off much of our gold reserves and raised council tax many, many times over.

No argument that it will take generations to pay off the debt left by the last Labour government.

No argument with the fact that [Tony] Blair and his cronies had their university fees paid for by us and our children now have to pay.

No argument about the fact that [Gordon] Brown and Blair carried out a social engineering project to destroy our national identity by allowing millions of immigrants into the country which has put additional strain on our social welfare system, jobs and hospitals.

No argument that they talked an awful lot about Britishness and British jobs for British people and then promised us twice that we would have a referendum vote on Europe – which is costing us billions every month – and failed to allow us to do so.

Then Mr Barlow bleats on about the political bias within the national Press.

I don’t remember saying anything about the Press.

No, Mr Barlow, if you want to talk about a cancer in our society it is potentially another Labour government.
