SIR – I can understand some non-competitive patrons not comprehending why Worcester Swimming Club needs an eight-lane pool.
In my youth I swam at club level and have since watched in amazement at the ever increasing standards being achieved.
But now that the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) has been having talks with Worcester City Council on the pros and cons of option one or two,Ifeel that there is now a strong possibility – with the ASA’s powers of persuasion – that the £5 million gap can be bridged in order that Worcester obtains not only a county standard pool but a first class leisure centre.
That way everyone should be happy.
