SIR – I agree with Ken Bateman (Worcester News, March 4) that cyclists are a greater hazard to the pedestrian than A-boards.
In 1949 when I was only 17, I tentatively traversed a ‘Halt major road ahead’ sign, without putting one foot to the ground.
A bobby on the beat cautioned me as I expected.
But who is going to stop these mad cyclists today with fewer policemen on foot patrol?
Such laws are just there to be broken.
