SIR – I’ve dug out a picture of Stonehall United football team taken in the 1960s.

This team, of which I was a founder member, played at Stonehall Common and our changing rooms were the Fruiters Arms (now called the Inn at Stonehall).

I have always played in goal and played for several local clubs, including Broughton Rangers in the 1950s, Severn Stoke, Kempsey and Wadborough Youth Club.

Ifinally called it a day at the age of 60 playing for the Golden Oldies at Drakes Broughton. Happy days.

The team pictured is, back row, from left, Doug Robinson, Wilmore, J Foster, M Walford, G Ford and Tom Piper; front row, from left, T Kitchen, M Westmacot, H Lovell, J Mann and T Goodwin.

I’m sorry to say quite a lot of the team have now left us but they were wonderful mates to play football with.
