SIR – I could not agree more with the letter by Terry James ‘It’s the art of not answering a question’ (Worcester News, February 15).
When are these politicians and public company executives going to realise that they are paid by us – the taxpayers – to do our bidding.
They are not there in their ivory towers to do what they want, but have a responsibility to act responsibly in the public good.
We did not put them in their places of power in order that they could put gagging orders on their employees.
Also, all severance pay-offs should be published openly.
Remuneration should not be set by their peers or others with vested interests.
I think we have had enough of secrecy in high places.
David Cameron promised us transparency when he came to power. How long must we wait?
