SIR – When I attended Worcester Technical High School, Sansome Walk, Worcester from 1959-1962, one of our teachers was Les ‘Nunky’ Cole who had seen service in the RAF in the Second World War.
He was badly burned during the conflict and received plastic surgery from Sir Archibald McIndoe and his team, thus becoming a member of the Guinea Pig Club.
For some time now I have been attempting to find out more about his RAF career and although I have come across various pieces of information the details I have are still very sparse, so I am appealing for more information.
At the time he taught me he was living in Arboretum Road, Worcester and had two daughters, Sally and Dinah, who might still be living locally.
I can be contacted by phone on 01905 454127 or via e-mail mauricefrancis1@ hotmail.com.
