SIR – Worcester City Council said that it cannot afford to borrow £13 million for a new swimming pool – but that £10.5 million is a more realistic figure (Worcester News, February 1).
In time the swimming pool would put money back in the council coffers Yet the powers-that-be are prepared to spend more than £100 million to build an incinerator in Hartlebury which will produce no revenue at all but at great cost to the taxpayers of Worcesteshire, many of whom will be going to the polls in May.
