SIR – Why should I have to treat gay people as human beings when it comes to matrimony?

Don’t people realise that apart from no longer being allowed to own, sell, beat, stone or even rape my wife, that marriage is an unchanging inviolable institution.

Marriage is far too important to have to ‘move with the times’ just because common decency suggests so.

And another thing. Due to the recent media coverage in the Worcester News, I’ve now had to terrify my children by re-telling them how homosexuals marrying could destroy our family life and even civilisation as we know it.

How dare you make me explain my wildly inaccurate claims.

Things were so much easier when all I had to tell them was “because God said so”.

Question: Is being a prejudiced homophobic bigot a good or a bad thing?
