A FRUSTRATED resident is warning he is prepared to shame an "irresponsible dog owner" by turning them into an infamous "internet star".

Carl Freeman warned it was not an "empty threat" having put up a sign showing people in Warndon Villagers he has a camera capturing footage of the area where the dog mess has been left.

The 60-year-old said the last straw had been cleaning up mess left on the footpath outside his home in Bomford Hill on Tuesday morning (November 2).

"I had to pick up, get a kettle to pour water over and wash it away, and disinfect the area where the dog mess had been left," Mr Freeman said.

"It is happening just outside our property, a dog owner is just leaving it there.

"This is the third time it has happened in three months, I'd had enough."

The charity worker, who lives with wife, said he then decided to put up the sign on a fence next to the area dog mess is being left.

The sign reads: "If you want to be an internet star then allow your dog to defecate here again (and not clean up after it).

"Your identity will be revealed courtesy of our CCTV camera and social media."

Mr Freeman also posted a warning on the Warndon Villages Facebook group, adding "my patience has now worn very thin".

He included a picture taken from the CCTV camera, adding: "Just in case the owner thinks this may be a bluff - we have got the area covered."

Mr Freeman said: "Usually social media posts can be polarising but not on this issue, everybody has been supportive against dog mess being left.

"The majority of dog owners clean up and are responsible.

"This person is not thinking of how the mess has to be cleared off kids shoes, how it covers a wheelchair wheel, or the bottom of a blind person's stick - who will only realise when they fold it up and it covers their hands.

"This is not an empty threat, I will post their picture on social media if it happens again."
