JONATHAN Brew, senior partner at Worcester-based law firm Harrison Clark, had the responsibility of representing the West Midlands at the MSI Global Alliance European, Middle East and Africa regional meeting in Zurich.
MSI Global Alliance is one of the world’s leading international alliances of independent legal and accounting firms, with more than 250 member firms in 100 countries.
Harrison Clark is the only representative for the West Midlands. Member firms help clients trade in other countries and cope with legal and tax jurisdictions by giving global access to advisers in different countries.
The conference attracted 83 members representing 45 firms. Many were from France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the former Eastern bloc countries were better represented than the first European conference in Edinburgh last year. There were also firms from the USA and China.
As well as two days of talks, delegates had a tour of the Swiss capital.
“It was a fascinating and instructive experience,”
said Mr Brew. Harrison Clark will attend the worldwide conference after the Olympic Games in Beijing in October.
