FAMILY firm 3W Developments from Shrawley has scooped a prestigious Master Builder of the Year Award, taking the prize for best new home in the Midlands.
The winning development was a pair of new cottages in Shrawley, which the judges decided was the best for its design, overall standard and the quality of the build.
3W managing director John Whiting said: "We are absolutely over the moon."
Mr Whiting runs the company with his wife Patricia, who is company secretary, and son Sam, who is the firm's development director. The Master Builder of the Year Awards is a nationwide search by the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) to find the best builders in Britain.
The judging panel tests the entrant's technical ability together with their customer service skills.
The awards are unique, as every entrant must be nominated by a satisfied customer. 3W Developments beat hundreds of other firms to claim the Midland's best new home prize.
It will now go through to compete in the national Master Builder of the Year Awards.
The winners of the national Awards will be announced by property developer and TV presenter Sarah Beeny at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Thursday, November 8.
John Watson, director of FMB Midland region said: "The Master Builder of the Year Awards give customers a chance to thank their builder for a job well done.
"There are plenty of great builders out there, but all too often we only hear of stories where things have gone wrong.
"The reality is that the majority of builders are hardworking, friendly and extremely skilled craftsmen, so we want to reward these companies and prove that building work in the Midlands surpasses the rest.
"3W Developments Ltd has done a fantastic job to win the Midland region award, and we wish them well in the national competition."
If 3W Developments Ltd wins the coveted Master Builder of the Year 2007 title, they will drive away in the brand new light commercial vehicle of their choice provided by Nissan.
