THE WEST Midlands Excellence Network (WMEN) is holding a free taster session in Worcester for people keen to find out how to react in the face of market changes and business uncertainty.

Preparing for Uncertainty on Tuesday, October 9, will give real life examples of businesses dealing with change in the market place.

Steev Ellson from Panton Sargent, the Worcester-based multi-disciplinary practice covering architecture, interior design and quantity surveying, will speak at the event.

He will talk of his experiences, how the company developed business to prevent reliance on one client, and how the organisation coped during and after a buy-out.

Jennifer Henderson, business unit manager for Discover Travel and Tours, also based in Worcester, will speak about the process between sales and booking and how a lot can happen between the two.

Karen Soulsby, manager of WMEN, said the taster is a great chance to learn how to react to certain situations. She said: "This real life experience from the companies is a brilliant opportunity allowing people to gain insight into real methods used during times of market change. The event is aiming to help deal with the external disasters that do occur and the impact on staff that these have. Many managers are unaware of the implications that change will have on their team and their profits."

This free event includes a light breakfast and networking at the start of the session.

Preparing for Uncertainty will be held at Panton Sargent, Wildwood Drive, Worcester, on October 9 from 8am to 11am. Email to reserve a place - wmen@midlandsexcellence.org.uk.
