Worcester-based property developers Hawkcrown Homes Ltd is continuing to grow its business through the constyruction of specifically and individually designed developments across the West Midlands.

The business is run by directors, Mike Clougher and Mark Dancox, and alongside the property development arm of the business the company also operates a successful decorating division.

The business, based in Adam House, Waterworks Road, Barbourne, Worcester, has a specialist development arm which is responsible for its portfolio of two, three, four and five-bedroomed houses, one and two-bedroomed luxury apartments, townhouses and bungalows.

The decorating division specialises in contract site work, working with national housebuilders and housing associations. The business is experienced in all types of contract redecoration for schools, offices, factories and nightclubs.

The company has worked closely with its financial partners the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in Worcester for more than 14 years.

Hawkcrown Homes has just completed two projects in the West Midlands - 24 one, two and three-bedroom properties at Victoria Mews, Granville Street, Willenhall, and 15 luxury two-bedroom apartments in Coppice Road, Walsall. All the properties have been sold.

In both cases, RBS provided the company with funding to buy the land and then supplied development loans to support the actual building of the properties.

Looking forward, Hawkcrown Homes is now beginning work on three new sites. Pensmill at Eardiston, near Tenbury Wells, where the company will develop nine homes, and it has also purchased land in Pope Iron Road, Worcester, near to its headquarters where nine three-bedroomed town houses and four two-bedroomed apartments will be built. The company is also building 17 apartments at Hallow, near Worcester To support Hawkcrown in these ventures, RBS has provided land loans to purchase the sites, and has agreed development loans for the individual projects which will see a draw down of funds as and when the company reaches certain stages of the developments.

Mike Clougher, managing director at Hawkcrown Homes, said: "Within the field of property development it is important to have a financial partner who understands your business and is clearly supportive of your ongoing plans for the business.

"I would describe our relationship with Ian Williams, our bank manager, as a real partnership.

"Not only does he provide us with the actual financial support the business requires, but we also benefit from his knowledge of the sector together with contacts within the industry which are useful to us.

"This is what we look for from business partners, people who can add value to our business in the same manner as we hope we add value to our customers by providing individually designed housing solutions."

Mr Williams, who is commercial banking manager at RBS in Worcester, said: "Hawkcrown is a really good example of a local business that knows its market and creates opportunities for itself within this arena.

"It has successfully established itself over the years in its chosen markets and operates two divisions within the property trade which is a good diversification of its business model and provides dual income streams."
