MALVERN-based construction firm Speller Metcalf used its annual Christmas drinks party to spread some seasonal cheer.

The company on Enigma Business Park took the opportunity to sponsor Snowball 2015, an annual event run by local charity Property for Kids, which helps disadvantaged children.

Guests at the party in the Metro Bar in Birmingham were asked to bring along a present up to the value of £10, which will be distributed to families and children over the festive period.

Speller Metcalfe's managing director Des O’Neill, said: "It was simply a fantastic opportunity to combine Christmas celebrations with such a worthwhile cause and we are delighted to be able to provide so many gifts to the Property for Kids charity and local children in need this Christmas. It has been quite incredible to see how inspired all our guests were with the initiative and we want to extend a big thank-you to them all for their contributions."

Speller Metcalfe was inundated with presents from those who attended the event and even received gifts from people who couldn't attend.
