A BUSINESS set up by two University of Worcester undergraduates has turned out to be a little gem.

Franco Florenzi, the jewellery company founded by 20-years-old Rowena Simmons and Lucky Nwosu, who is 23, has turned over almost £500,000 in its first 12 months.

Based in Droitwich, it has achieved global success after being published in household magazines such as Vogue, GQ, Esquire, Square Mile and Glamour. Its popular range of watches and bracelets has built an impressive following on social media, with a combined total of 445,000 followers across Facebook and Instagram.

Miss Simmons, who is in the final year of her business degree, said: "We are so pleased with how far we have come in the past year. Franco Florenzi has really taken off and we are so thankful for all the support we have received.”

The company has won several prestigious awards, including best digital at the 2014 Lloyds Bank Enterprise Awards, Midlands Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Midlands Exporter of the Year.
