WORCESTERSHIRE construction group Weaver has reporting its best year on record, with an annual turnover of £43 million to the end of March.

The figure is £3 million ahead of target and £13 million ahead of last year.

Alan Adamson, joint managing director, said the increase in income is due to a high percentage of repeat business together with many new clients.

"When analysing the figures, more than 60 per cent of the total is attributable to customers who are returning to us again and again.

Building projects over the last 12 months include a £3.7 million warehouse for Stoford Developments, education contracts valued at £5.6 million and £2 million of refurbishment and build projects for motorway service provider Moto.

The Bromsgrove-based firm has also appointed a number of new employees.

Peter Lightfoot, joint managing director, said: "Like any company, finding and retaining good quality people with the right skills and, importantly, a can-do attitude is paramount for the future prosperity of our business. We are fortunate that we have a good reputation for looking after our staff so turnover is low.

"Growth in the last 12 months and projected projects for the new financial year have led to this latest raft of recruits, who will add enormously to our skills base."
