IT was smiles all round as independent photography company Sub Studio of Copenhagen Street, Worcester celebrated its first birthday.
Photographer and business owner David Lloyd-Rumens said: "It's really surprised me how much support there is available for a start-up business. I'm especially grateful to Worcestershire Business Central, which is part of Worcestershire County Council and which helped us develop our business plan and apply for grants, and to Worcester BID for its continued help, advice and encouragement. It's nice to know that you're not alone."
Two other businesses in Copenhagen Street are celebrating their first year anniversary in October too, Casablanca Wine Bar and Joules. Mr Lloyd-Rumens added: "There's a real community feel between the businesses in the street, we all help each other and pull together. The area has transformed over the last 12 months from lots of empty properties to a thriving street with a great buzz."
He said his company has just employed a new member of staff and the business is looking to expand further into corporate and event photography.
