IT may not be the most conciliatory gesture to make, but you can now start divorce proceedings on line. In response to client demand, the family law team at Harrison Clark Rickerbys, whose head office is based in Worcester, has expanded its offer to include an online service. It is claimed to be "new and user-friendly " and allows clients to begin divorce proceedings, agree a separation, create a cohabitation or pre or post-nuptial agreement, or make an application in relation to disputes involving children. All this can be done from the comfort of their own home.
Andy Caldicott, partner and head of Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ family law department, said: "Our expanded service provides the opportunity for us to deliver a whole range of help and support to clients online. Figures currently suggest a rise of around 30 per cent in the number of people attending family courts without legal representation. We appreciate that this can be a daunting prospect, particularly when it comes to drafting key legal documents. This is where, as one of the largest family law teams in the UK, we can help. The benefit of our online facility is that we provide a bespoke service, rather than just mass produced standard documents."
Once the client has completed the required information, Harrison Clark Rickerbys drafts the necessary paperwork and returns it to the client within four working days.
