BUDDING Worcestershire business stars pitched their products to the public at Webbs Garden Centre in Wychbold when more than a dozen Young Enterprise companies representing schools in Worcester, Droitwich, Redditch and Bromsgrove set up their pitches in a trade fair opened by Mid Worcestershire MP Sir Peter Luff. The new businesses sold a wide variety of products from home decorations and handmade candles to cake stands and wooden door plaques.

The best sales and marketing ward was presented by Webbs chairman Ed Webb,to Naomi Quorrall, managing director of Aurora from North Bromsgrove High, which was selling handmade decorative products made out of recycled materials. It was the second year running a YE company from the school has won the award.

Other winners were: South Bromsgrove High – Scentsational for best customer service; South Bromsgrove High – Silhouette for best product; North Bromsgrove High - Aurora for best sales and marketing and St Augustine`s – Think Acrylic for best display stand.

Mr Webb, said: “It was great to meet so many aspiring business entrepreneurs and see their products. I hope the fair at Webbs has encouraged them to move forward with their businesses and into the world of retail.”

Young Enterprise is the UK’s largest enterprise education charity. The company programme, its flagship learning experience, is for students aged 15 to 19 and starts at the beginning of the academic year. Participating students form their own business, then develop and market a service or product.
