WEBBS Garden Centre at Wychbold, near Droitwich is once again top of the pots. Its houseplant department has come out with the highest marks in the UK for the fifth year running. The family-owned firm scored top marks once again after inspection by The Garden Centre Association, the organisation representing the best garden retailers in Britain. Webbs was also named the GCA best garden centre in the Midlands and highly commended.
Chairman Ed Webb said: "Plants are at the heart of Webbs and we strive to give our customers top quality, well presented plants which they can enjoy in their gardens or homes or give as lovely presents. Our success is also due to the fact our staff are recognized by the GCA and our customers for their plant knowledge and helpfulness. Our houseplant department has creative displays with a contemporary feel, giving our customers great ideas on how to colour co-ordinate pots and plants to add even more style to any home. Our gift-wrapping service is also perfect for those leading busy lives or who want an extra-special look to a gift.”
The number one houseplant of choice by customers at Webbs are orchids. Cyclamen, African violets and more exotic plants such as bromeliads and anthuriums are also among customers’ favourites.
The garden centre beat around 160 other garden retailers to score the joint highest. Each year, every GCA garden centre member goes through stringent standards audits where independent inspectors arrive unannounced and judge all aspects of their businesses.
