FREELANCE artist, designer and cycling enthusiast Rob Draper has been selected to join an international campaign to promote sustainable living. Working alongside 28 established global creatives such as Sir Paul Smith and Sir Quentin Blake, he was invited to become part of the project because of his unique, contemporary style of art and typography.

Forty-years-old Mr Draper, who lives in Claines, Worcester and previously a student at Worcester College of Technology as well as art director and designer at UK fashion brand Fly53, designed the poster based on his passion for cycling.

He said: "It was a huge privilege to be invited to be a part of the project and surrounded by so many talented, inspirational creatives. As I'm a keen cyclist, the campaign's message 'Roll for the Soul’ is close to my heart. I don’t think there’s a better way to view your surroundings than from the saddle.”

The campaign, which is to promote Earth Hour on March 29, was launched collaboratively by three organisations; WWF, Do the Green Thing, and Pentagram, the worlds largest independent design consultancy. The designs are to act as encouragement to take up simple activities such as walking to work, saving electricity, sharing bathwater and eating seasonal food or less meat.

Designs are being unveiled every day throughout March until March 29, when people around the world will take part in a 'lights-out' event at 8.30pm local time. Each poster is distributed to 50million people daily throughout the WWF and Do The Green Thing online community. Posters are printed on FSC paper with sustainable ink for £12 plus postage and packing with all proceeds going back to the Do The Green Thing charity. To view the posters visit www.dothegreenthing.com
