AN apprentice from Worcester topped the table at the West Midlands Regional Training Awards for the building services engineering sector.
Ciaran van Rooyen, who is employed by Hockley Building Services Ltd of Birmingham, won the Service amd Mainten-ance BSE technician award for his excellent work throughout the past year. The award was presented at Wolverhampton Racecourse.
Bernard Gardner, chairman of the Building Services Engineering Regional Training Group, congratulated the winners and praised their employers and colleges.
"These awards, which are recognised by the building services industry, represent a significant achievement for the winners and an example of the commitment that they, their employers, and the colleges have towards training and skills development," he said.
The event was organised by SummitSkills - the sector skills council for building services engineering - and the main sponsor for the event was Worcester Bosch.
