FOR the second year in succession Droitwich control room console designer and manufacturer Winsted Limited has had to get out the posh cutlery. Because the firm, from Hampton Lovett, has again welcomed VIPs for the official presentation of its Queen’s Award for Enterprise.

This year the ceremony was carried out by Worcestershire’s Lord Lieutenant, Lt Col Patrick Holcroft and was followed by a reception for civic dignitaries, council officials and representatives from UK trade and industry, including Paul Noon, UKTI’s regional director.

Wistead received the award for its achievements in international trade, which included growing export sales over the last three years and increased overseas distribution.

General manager Terry Shough said: “I am thrilled to see our success recognised in this manner as during recent years we have worked hard to distinguish ourselves in the global market.

“It's our depth of knowledge as a specialist team that has given us a clear commercial advantage and sets us apart from our competitors. “To win the award once was a great achievement, but a second time in succession is an amazing result and it is a testament to the hard work, commitment and professionalism of all our staff, distributors and suppliers. “We have been delighted with the continued growth and success we’ve seen over the past three years and are now very much looking forward to building on this and our Queen's Award achievement in the future."

Winsted’s latest achievement comes as the company is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

To coincide it has also introduced two major new products into its expanding range of equipment solutions, which include consoles, media storage equipment and monitor walls.
