THE city’s 300 independent businesses are being recognised and applauded in a campaign led by Worcester BID.

‘Uniquely Worcester’ runs until Saturday, November 2, to remind customers about the extra passion and service they receive from independent traders in the city.

And hungry to show customers precisely that level of service are the independent restaurants among the Worcester BID businesses.

Around every area of the city centre, these restaurants and cafes are working hard alongside national restaurant chains to win customers by merit of their own unique approach, personal service and individuality, and to keep the Worcester pound here in the county.

One of those independents is Bindles Bar and Brasserie in Sidbury.

As the bar and restaurant enters its third year of trading, owner Victoria Hamilton-Jones relishes the individual approach of businesses like hers across the city.

“What our customers love about Bindles is that we can be unique, to meet their individual requirements. “All our menus are planned and developed in our kitch-ens here using local produce, we employ local people and support neighbouring businesses in any way we can.

“As owner/manager, I am working here all the time and hope that Bindles staff and customers get to see and share my passion for making the restaurant the very best it can be. “I love being able to listen directly to customers and to take a personalized approach to making them feel special, which being a small independent allows me to do.”

l As part of Uniquely Worcester, a voucher book of offers giving money off at 62 independent Worcester businesses has been sent to 30,000 households in the area. It is also downloadable from uniquelyworcester.com
