A WORCESTER company that produces fans and blowers for cars is making sure a community brass band doesn’t run out of financial puff.
SPAL Automotive, of Tolladine Road, is supporting Sovereign Brass, which has performed at many of the UK’s finest venues, including Birmingham’s Symphony Hall and the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The two organisations will collaborate on a number of projects throughout the year and the partnership will allow SPAL to present concerts in aid of local charities.
Matthew Morris, managing director of SPAL Auto-mative, the UK division of the Italian SPAL Group, said: “We’re delighted to be able to support Sovereign Brass in this way.
“At SPAL we aim to provide the best products with the best service levels to our customers at all times. This level of commitment and professionalism are values that we share with Sov-ereign Brass.
“We are now very pleased to be able to help to keep alive the tradition of this wonderful genre of music making and to encourage the next generation of musicians and audiences alike.”
Steve Parsons, Sovereign Brass Band chairman, added: “Sovereign Brass is very excited about this new sponsorship arrangement with SPAL Automotive.
“We plan to establish a number of new projects together within the community and it will allow us to continue to produce and promote music-making of the highest standards.”
Sovereign Brass, which is based in Smethwick, will be the Brass Band in Residence at the University of Bir-mingham for the coming academic year.
