TWO new partners have been appointed at county law firm Thursfields.
Associate solicitor and head of the probate department, Michelle Green, has been promoted to partner, while Tony Gibb has been appointed a commercial property partner.
Mrs Green has been at the firm for 10 years, having previously worked in a large city practice. She is a graduate of bespoke in-house training programme, the Thursfields Executive Development Programme, which was launched in 2010.
She advises on wills, probate, the powers of attorney, court of protection matters, tax and trust matters and is a member of the Solicitors for the Elderly and the Law Society’s probate section.
“I am delighted to have been promoted to partner at Thursfields,” said Mrs Green.
“My progression within the firm is real testament to its commitment to staff and the on-going training and development the firm delivers.”
Tony Gibb joins the Kidderminster-based firm and brings a wealth of experience to the property team undertaking both commercial property and development work, as well as residential conveyancing.
He provides advice on business leases, agricultural tenancies, site acquisition and disposal and all aspects of residential sales and purchases, including matrimonial transfers.
His career started in retail management, but after five years he retrained and qualified as a solicitor in 2001.
“Thursfields is an award-winning local firm which provides an excellent service to clients and has a clear sense of direction and ambition,” he said.
Nick O’Hara, managing partner at Thursfields, said: “We are delighted Tony has decided to join our team and are confident that his appointment will ensure the further development of our commercial property team.
“Michelle has demonstrated her ability in her legal knowledge, business development and management over the past couple of years.
“In offering her this promotion, we recognise the value of Michelle’s firm business-minded approach and her ability and potential to make a key contribution towards developing and growing Thursfields going forward.”
