TWO men have appeared in court charged with burglary after they were arrested in an incident which closed a Redditch road.

Roy Wallace of Lingard Close, Nechells, Birmingham, and Nickolas Wallace, of Eathorpe Close, Redditch, appeared before Kidderminster magistrates yesterday.

They were arrested on Monday when the vehicle they were travelling in was followed and stopped by police on the Alvechurch Highway in Redditch. The road was closed while police carried out the operation.

Both men are charged with burgling an address in Cardinal Drive, Kidderminster, on Monday and stealing a laptop, jewellery and electrical items worth around £1,300, as well as possession of cannabis.

Roy Wallace, aged 43, also appeared accused of dangerous driving between the A449 at Ombersley and the Alvechurch Highway on Monday, burgling TDI Supplies Ltd at the Imex Business Centre in Oxleasow Road, Redditch, between Friday, September 2 and Monday, September 5 this year, stealing a laptop, computer and mountain bike, and stealing a Ford Connect van in a burglary at HydraForce Hydraulics Ltd in Aston, Birmingham, between Friday, February 25 and Monday, February 28 this year.

Nickolas Wallace, aged 20, admitted the burglary he was charged with and possession of cannabis.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Worcester Crown Court for sentencing on Friday, December 9.

Roy Wallace did not enter any pleas and was remanded in custody to appear before Kidderminster magistrates again next Wednesday.
