A COUNCIL is sitting pretty when it comes to its public toilets.
Malvern Hills District Council’s two newest public conveniences – in Market Street, Tenbury Wells, and in Worcester Road, Malvern Link – both scored five stars, which is the highest mark available, in the Loo of the Year scheme.
None of the council’s public toilet facilities fell below the three-star grade.
Councillor Bronwen Be-han, portfolio holder for environmental services, said: “We are thrilled with having received top marks, especially for the toilet facilities that we have recently built.
“This shows that we as a council are continuing to make every effort to provide both residents and visitors with first-rate facilities.”
The new toilets at Tenbury Wells were a bespoke design in keeping with the town and were the result of a design competition.
The winning design incorporated the style of oast houses and allowed for integrated disabled facilities making them accessible for all members of the public.
