THERE’S very much a festival feel to the page today but I make no apology as it’s that time of year.
Hot on the heels of yet another triumph at Upton-upon-Severn, this month will also see ‘Sir’ Alan Buckley’s Bromyard Music Festival hit the streets running.
This three-day homage to the hottest sounds in town is being billed as a carnival of jazz and will basically follow the same format as the highly successful Upton sessions.
A host of top names and players will be appearing over the weekend starting Friday, August 19, many of whom will be familiar to everyone who has supported ‘Sir’ Alan’s numerous projects down the years.
Camping facilities will be provided for fans and festival-goers are also invited to take part in the New Orleans mardi gras parade that has been such a popular feature of the Upton festival.
The main action will be taking place at the Falcon Hotel complex involving three venues.
Festival fever is fast sweeping through the two counties. It’s got to be good for everyone, especially local businesses which could certainly do with the increased trade that such events always encourage.
