MASKED robbers have threatened a barman and six patrons at a village pub.

Four men burst into the Round of Gras, Badsey, near Evesham, and made the threats of violence before making off with cash and two mobile phones.

The robbery took place between 11.30pm and midnight on Sunday at the Bretforton Road pub.

Landlord Graham Brown said: “I’ve been here 10 years and nothing has ever happened like this before. Everybody was very shaken.

“You just don’t expect it here especially as it’s a very busy pub. I’m just thankful that nobody was hurt and everybody is safe.”

Detective Sergeant Kate Stevens said: “The men were only in the pub for a couple of minutes and no one was injured.

"Incidents such as this are rare and we are keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area around the pub in the time leading up to or following the robbery.”

Police declined to say how much cash was taken.

House-to-house enquiries have taken place in the area and CCTV footage is currently being viewed by officers.
