UNDER promise, over achieve. It’s a good motto. And one that, sadly, we don’t think applies to the riverside improvements at Worcester.
The very attractive vision created by the artist’s impression when the scheme was first revealed has turned into something a little underwhelming.
We understand financial pressures meant the original scheme had to be trimmed back.
And there is no doubt that it has improved the riverside environment.
But to us the river is a fantastic asset and something we need to make the most of both for residents and visitors.
Sadly the improvement scheme promised a lot but didn’t achieve.
However, for now we will accept Councillor Bayliss’ view that it is the foundation for better, and more exciting, things to come.
