DAREDEVIL pilots will once again glide across the skies of Worcestershire this summer with the arrival of the British Open Paramotor Championships.
The popular event returns to Kerswell Green, near Kempsey, from Friday, June 10, to Monday, June 13.
Last year, about 60 powered paraglider and motorised hang glider pilots took part in the competition and organisers are hoping for another good turnout, depending upon the weather.
Entrants from as far and wide as Poland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, France, Italy and Kuwait, as well as the UK, will take on challenges set to test the skills of even the most experienced pilots.
They will have to show their mastery of economy, precision and navigation.
And an attempt will be made to set the UK championship record for the largest number of paramotors in the sky at any one time.
Other attractions will include an appearance from the manufacturer Nirvana, whose team will be travelling from the Czech Republic to give a light display on the Friday evening.
There will also be trade stands from paramotor manufacturers and suppliers from across the UK and Europe.
Richard Shaw, secretary of the British Open Paramotor Committee, said: “It’s a fun, safe and spectator-friendly event. We hope the weather stays fine and everything goes off OK.”
Members of the public are welcome to attend the event and there is also still time for pilots to enter.
