PEOPLE across the county are being given the opportunity to delve into an extensive photographic and illustration archive.
Worcestershire’s Record Office is hosting the last workshop in its opening the archives series which aims to help people to make the most of the historical documents and other resources which are available to them.
The session will see staff from the Worcestershire History Centre explain the kinds of photos and illustrations which are kept in its vaults, as well as giving hints and tips on how to use the indexes and find images of interest.
Paul Hudson, head of the Worcestershire History Centre, which is based in Trinity Street, Worcester, said: “Photos are an amazing source of historical insight conveying a wide-range of information and nostalgia. In this workshop we’ll be explaining the breadth of the collection and encouraging participants to make the most of it.
“These opening the archives workshops have proven really popular and this workshop sold out when we ran it in 2007 and 2009, so I would advise anyone interested in taking part to book their place as soon as possible.”
The workshop will take place tomorrow between 7pm and 9pm. It costs £6 per person and booking is essential.
