EVERY May all WIs in the UK discuss resolutions. This year the campaign being on “closure of local libraries” and “proposed mega farms”.
Josie gave us a very well informed and authoritative description of both these topics, assessing both negative and positive aspects.
She had been surprised to hear a local organic farmer favouring mega farms, as the growing population will need much more food. Each member voted and Pump House WI’s decision will go to Liverpool NFWI AGM in June.
The Government will be notified of the votes cast by thousands of women.
This month, we also mulled happily over our April birthday celebrations, started planning our luscious cakes and marmalade stall for the Gheluvelt Worcester Flower Show and ended with a superb poetry reading from Ann, including Rudyard Kipling’s If.
