AFTER finding herself in the danger zone last week, Worcester dancer Katie Love needs your votes to get her one step closer to the finals of So You Think You Can Dance?
The judges chose to save Katie last week after the public were left unimpressed by the Broadway routine she performed with dance partner Lee C, who was voted off the show along with Danielle, Rithy and Shane.
But Katie’s mum, Sue Love, said a tough week was “the kick up the bottom she needed” and that the 24-year-old had a renewed sense of determination.
Mrs Love said: “She was a bit restrained last week, she had a very tough week and so come Sunday, she was thinking things couldn’t get any worse, only better.
“I suppose in anything people reach a low point, but she knows she has to be professional and get on with it.
“She has a renewed sense of determination and she’s back to the old Katie.
“She’s worried because she was in the danger zone last week so she needs her votes this week. She’s going to up her game and is back on form.”
Mrs Love said that both she and Katie were amazed by the amount of support she had received throughout the competition.
“She’s in the final 10 and she’s proud to be that at the least,” she said.
“She’s really amazed. She’s getting so much support through Facebook. Everybody is so supportive.
“I just hope everyone keeps voting as many times as they can, let’s keep her in.
“She has a new partner this week so we should see something a little bit different.”
Katie is also being supported by local sportspeople.
A special announcement urging people to vote for Katie went out before Worcester Warriors’ promotion match on Wednesday night and she is also being supported by Worcestershire County Cricket Club.
Steve Rhodes, director of cricket at New Road, said: “She’s a local girl in a national competition. Why wouldn’t you want to get behind a local person?
“Everybody is behind her at the cricket club and we hope everything goes well for her.”
