A MARATHON man has completed a gruelling test of endurance, running seven marathons in seven days.

Dave Brown completed the challenge running a coast-to-coast route across northern England in support of a leukaemia charity.

The 60-year-old, of Worcester, was raising money for the blood and lymphatic cancer charity Leukaemia CARE which is based in the city.

He started his challenge on Sunday, May 1. The well-known route takes place over a 192-mile trail including a crossing over the Lake District, Pennines and Yorkshire Dales.

Most people take up the challenge by walking the route but Mr Brown took it to a new level by covering 26.3 miles every day.

"I chose to do it, not because it is easy but hard,” he said. “I am relieved it is over but well worth it for a fantastic charity.”

He wanted to raise £3,000 for the charity and money can still be pledged by logging on to justgiving. com/Dave-Brown3 or pop into his gym – JAB fitness in Shrub Hill Road, Worcester.
