PUPILS gave Kate and Wills a run for their money after planning their very own royal wedding.
In the week prior to the royal wedding on Friday, April 29, children from the early years unit at St Bartholomew’s Primary School, Stourport, planned their own wedding including making a guest list, invitations, the crowns and a shopping list for food for the party.
Nicola Harvey, head of the Early Years Foundation Unit, said: “Few of the children had experienced going to a wedding so what better than to use the theme of the royal wedding as a starting point for their learning.
“We began by finding out about the symbols associated with our country, focusing especially on the Union flag.”
Children talked about why the colours red, white and blue would play an important part in the wedding and made their own bunting to decorate the wedding.
On the day, wedding guests included children, staff and parents. Mrs Harvey said: “The children did themselves proud and enjoyed every minute.”
