CHARITABLE residents and their canine companions are being urged to stretch their legs (and paws) at the Jinney Ring Craft Centre, Hanbury, on Sunday.
The centre will host ‘Go Walkies for Guide Dogs’ where dogs will be sponsored to stroll through the Hanbury countryside.
The event has been organised to raise money for Guide Dogs, a nationwide charity responsible for training dogs suitable for the blind.
Organiser Linda Atkins of Guide Dogs’ Redditch and Bromsgrove fund-raising group, said: “Go Walkies for Guide Dogs is the only sponsored dog walk where the dogs are sponsored to take part – not their owners.”
The latest research reveals it costs more than £45,000 to support a guide dog from cradle to grave.
Ideally, people are asked to register for the event in advance at gowalkies.org.uk although anyone who turns up on the day is more than welcome to join in the walk.
