A SOLICITOR is hoping Worcester people will help her to bring water to a village in one of the poorest countries in the world.
Saheda Begum, of Henwick Road, St John’s, Worcester, wants to raise £2,000 towards a new well, as part of the Samaritan’s Purse Turn the Tap campaign.
Miss Begum, who works for Talbots Solicitors in Dudley, was inspired to support the project after she spent seven days in the African country of Swaziland with the charity.
She said: “My time in Swaziland was an eye opener. It makes you realise how fortunate we are to have the basic essentials. There was water two miles away from this village and after the one trip we did, we were exhausted.”
Miss Begum said she hoped to organise a curry night or swimathon to raise funds for the cause.
