MORE than 40 young riders enjoyed the annual Malvern Pony Club Easter Rally. There could not have been a more marked contrast in the weather.
This year’s blistering heat was a welcome relief following last year’s rally which was cancelled due to heavy rain.
Pony club committee member Hilary Raitt said: “It was a fantastic day and is the curtain raiser to a summer of shows and horsey events. The rally blew away all the winter cobwebs and a fabulous time was had by all.”
The youngsters – who were aged between four and 18 – gathered at Malvern’s Three Counties showground where they were divided in to groups according to their age and ability.
Each group was linked to an instructor who took every rider through their paces in flat work, schooling, jumping and gymkhana events. Lunch was followed by a festive Easter egg hunt.
