A CHARITY bash in aid of disabled youngsters with complex needs has been a huge success.

The University of Worcester played host to its first spring fete on Friday in aid of Worcester Snoezelen, which provides care for those with multi-sensory problems from its premises in Turnpike Close. The event was “a big success” according to backers, after being organised by the university’s community development workers.

There was the old fairground favourite of hook-a-duck swaying punters, as well as the more novel cake-decorating competition and other attractions.

For the conscientious shopper there were fair trade stalls, food from Trade Nepal and Smartwater kits being sold by the St John’s Neighbourhood Watch.

The Snoezelen centre caters for more than 450 people on a regular basis.
