A 74-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his cousin.
Robin Troughton, aged 59, of Longdon, near Upton-upon-Severn, was found with fatal injuries in Bushley, near Tewkesbury, on Sunday, April 3. He was flown to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, but died there on Friday, April 22.
His cousin Roger Troughton, aged 74, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with his murder. He was remanded in custody and will appear at Worcester Crown Court on Monday.
Robin Troughton’s mother, Barbara, said: “Robin was well-known in the local community in and around Longdon and Bushley. He attended church regularly and enjoyed watching local cricket matches.”
A second man, in his 50s, who was also arrested at the time of the incident remains on police bail.
