A MAN has admitted hurling a “relentless” torrent of verbal abuse at his sister.
Stephen Thomson, aged 30, of Littleworth Walk, Evesham, pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court.
Sarah Stock, prosecuting, said officers were on patrol on Thursday, April 21, when they were asked to go to Littleworth Walk following reports of an altercation.
She said: “A man was verbally abusive, shouting at the people inside the property. He was drunk and officers told him to calm down but he was relentless with his abuse.”
Thomson was warned he would be arrested but he believed his sister had his mobile phone.
“Several properties were overlooking the scene and most were elderly residents,” said Mrs Stock.
“When the officer approached the property to speak to his sister the defendant started shouting and approached the property.
“He was in a confrontational stance and raised his left arm. He was taken to the floor by officers and continued his abuse.”
Defending himself in court, Thomson said he was ashamed of his actions and was seeking help for his issues with alcohol.
He was fined £150 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
