HEALTH bosses are receiving increasing numbers of freedom of information requests about NHS services, according to the latest figures.
During the last calendar year, NHS Worcestershire received 333 freedom of information requests, an increase of 18 per cent on the previous year.
About 95 per cent of requests were about commissioning – the funding of health services.
A third came from individuals, with the rest coming from the press or commercial organisations.
The figures were revealed at a board meeting of NHS Worcestershire at the Guildhall in Worcester on Wednesday.
Plans for 2011 include an expanded publications scheme so more information requested under FOI legislation is available on the NHS Worcestershire website.
