THIS weekend marks the biggest night in Hollywood – and fashion – as the stars take to the red carpet for the Oscars.
Without doubt, the setting will be magnificent and the men will all look dapper, but all eyes will be on what Natalie Portman, Helena Bonham Carter et al will be wearing.
But you don’t need an A-list budget to achieve that red-carpet glamour – it’s on your doorstep.
Miss Worcester Katie Sinclair, left, wears a £360 dress by Mori Lee, courtesy of Promesse in Friar Street, Worcester.
The single-shoulder style and fishtail skirts are key this season.
You need the perfect hairstyle to set off the perfect dress and this year less is more.
Miss Sinclair’s hair was styled by Zoe Stock at Umberto Giannini, Pump Street, Worcester, in their Style Bar. Styles cost £15- £20 and no appointment is necessary.
Unstructured waves, loose chignons and tendrils are all worthy of a winning Oscar style.
Miss Sinclair first had her hair curled to add some texture and root lift before being curled back for a soft look. It was then backcombed for volume.
Her hair was tucked under and gripped at the back to add softness and angled down through the back so some of the hair could be seen from the front.
Miss Sinclair’s make-up included smoky grey eyes and classic Hollywood red lips which complemented her hair and dress.
Judy Hall, left, of You beauty salon in Friar Street, Worcester, compiled the look using the following products from the award-winning Bare Escentuals range.
Foundation: Light (£23)
Blusher: Warm Radiance (£19)
Eyeshadow: Nude Beech and Queen Tiffany (£14 each)
Eye pencil: Charcoal (£14)
Lipstick: Cherries on Top (£14)
Lipgloss: Crystal (£17)
