TWO charities will benefit from a bumper bargain clearance sale at Hanley Swan Village Hall this weekend.

The Worcestershire Sale of Sales takes place from 11am until 4pm tomorrow.

Proceeds will be split between St Richard’s Hospice Community Care Centre, which opens in April, and the newly repaired organ at Our Lady and St Aphonsus Church in Blackmore Park.

Fifteen stallholders will be there offering discounts of up to 60 per cent on their stock including shoes, bags, leather goods, hats, costume jewellery, boutique fashion, designer cut fleeces, cards, books, cushions, rugs, and gadgets for cooking, gardening, and sports.

St Richard’s Hospice Malvern Group is running a tombola and friends of the Blackmore Park church will sell homemade cakes. Penny’s From Heaven will open the Soup Kitchen from noon.

The Sale of Sales is being organised by local resident Charlotte Carver, who is a founder member of the Charity Fairs Association and a long-term supporter of St Richard’s Hospice and the Blackmore Park church.

The event will be opened by author Marianne Rankin, who will sign copies of her books, including the recently-published From Dream to Reality: The History of St Richard’s Hospice, Worcester.

Admission is £3 (£5 for two, five-15s 50p), including coffee, tea and biscuits. There will be ample free parking.
